San Diego State right handed pitcher Xavier Cardenas III on the mound winds up to throw a pitch earlier this season at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs were swept by Hawaii 0-3 this past weekend.

San Diego State’s men’s baseball team dropped Friday’s series opener against Hawai’i, 16-5, at Les Murakami Stadium.

The Aztecs (6-14, 2-7 Mountain West) got swept the previous weekend in Pueblo, Colo.
