Padres officially sign No. 3 overall pick Gore

The Padres have reached an agreement with No. 3 overall pick MacKenzie Gore, the team announced on Saturday.

Gore will sign for a bonus of $6.7 million, roughly in line with the suggested slot money of $6,668,100 for the third overall selection in the 2017 MLB Draft, a source told MLB.com's Jim Callis. The club did not confirm terms of the agreement.

Gore, who was reportedly in consideration for the No. 1 overall pick by the Twins, should begin his professional career as one of the game's top left-handed pitching prospects.
