Myers reached with an RBI single into left off Philadelphia's Nick Pivetta, putting the Padres ahead 1-0. With Austin Hedges batting, Myers took second. When Hedges drew a walk, Myers sprinted for third, giving him his second multi-steal game of the season and first since June 13.
Hedges broke for second. Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp's throw arrived far ahead of Hedges, but the Padres' catcher had stopped and got in a rundown. As the Phillies attempted to catch Hedges, Myers sprinted home. First baseman Tommy Joseph threw home, but Myers beat Rupp's tag to complete his trip around the diamond.
