The Jays have surged past the Yankees in the AL East and the Mets seem well on their way to dethroning the Nationals. Of course, as far as the Padres are concerned, none of them hold a candle to the Phillies, who won five straight over San Diego before finally easing off the throttle Sunday afternoon. A better showing against baseball's losing-est team would have the Padres that much closer to a winning record.
