Cahill to have MRI on ailing shoulder

SAN DIEGO -- Padres right-hander Trevor Cahill will undergo an MRI on Sunday after playing catch for the first time since landing on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.

"He threw out to 75 feet [on Saturday] and didn't feel great," Padres manager Andy Green said. "… He's getting looked at, trying to figure out if there's anything structurally that we need to be concerned about."

Cahill went on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday -- retroactive to May 14 -- marking his second stint on the disabled list this season. He missed nine games in April with a lower back strain.
