47th All-Star Game: Randy Jones gets the win for NL

National League 7, American League 1

July 13, 1976, Veterans Stadium, Philadelphia

Starting pitchers: Mark Fidrych, Tigers; Randy Jones, Padres.

Managers: John McNamara, Red Sox; Sparky Anderson, Reds.

MVP: George Foster, Reds.

Highlight: Padres left-hander Randy Jones started for the NL, coming into the game with a 16-3 record, a mark that has not been equaled in the 40 years since. Jones allowed two hits with one strikeout and one walk over three shutout innings to get the victory. That made him the only player in All-Star Game history with a win and a save (from the 1975 game).
