Danny Woodhead walks a careful path when discussing his contract.
It stretches the high road.
The Chargers running back is entering the final season of a two-year extension signed in 2014. Efforts to re-extend his deal before the start of training camp weren’t fruitful, the team determining it was not in position to do so for a variety of cited factors, including cash committed to other contracts this year, sources said.
Woodhead and his family enjoy San Diego.
He hopes to remain with the club long-term.
Still, regarding the lack of movement on his contract, don’t expect to hear him fret about it.
