Chargers wish birthday greetings to 'young' QB

Led by Antonio Gates, Chargers offensive players were ready Thursday morning when the birthday boy walked into a meeting room at Chargers Park.

Happy birthday, Philip!

“I gave him a hug so big,” Gates said.

Philip Rivers turned 35 on Thursday, and if that makes you feel old or not so young, well, the Chargers have some good news for you.

Age really is just a number.

At least, where Rivers is concerned.

Gates, 36, said neither he nor Rivers is oblivious to how aging works. “We understand Father Time is undefeated,” he said.
