Four days before the Spurs are set to open the regular season against Golden State, they have learned they will be without their starting shooting guard for the foreseeable future.
Danny Green has been listed as out of tonight’s preseason finale against Houston with a left thigh strain. A Spurs injury report indicated the 28-year-old would miss about three weeks.
Green’s injury apparently stems from a thigh contusion he suffered in an open gym before the start of training camp last month. Green appeared in four preseason games, averaging 3.5 points and shooting 35.3 percent. He appeared to re-injure himself during the Spurs’ intrasquad scrimmage Tuesday.
