SAN ANTONIO – Not surprisingly, perpetually upbeat Spurs guard Danny Green located a silver lining after he received some bad news before Friday night’s 114-99 victory over Houston in the preseason finale.
In a blow to a team eager to jell after an offseason filled with changes, the Spurs learned Green will be sidelined for about three weeks after he aggravated in Tuesday’s intra-squad scrimmage the left quad injury that forced him to miss the first week of training camp.
“It’s not great being injured, but the timing isn’t bad,” Green said. “It’s better to have little injuries now and get them out of the way than to have them when we get into the flow of things.
