MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team will face numerous major conference opponents and California rivals in its 2016-17 non-conference schedule, as well as host its annual Thanksgiving Tournament, as announced Thursday by head coach Paul Thomas.
The Gaels (24-8 in 2015-16) will face four teams from Power-5 conferences and take on five different non-conference teams from the state of California. Saint Mary’s will look to repeat last year’s success against East Bay rival California when it hosts the Golden Bears to open the season on Nov. 11. SMC also hosts Pac-12 competitor Utah as part of its annual Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic on Nov.
