MORAGA, Calif. — A comeback was in order Thursday night for the Saint Mary’s volleyball team but it was too little too late, as the Gaels succumbed to Loyola Marymount, 3-1 (25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 25-19), in a West Coast Conference match at McKeon Pavilion.
Trailing 2-0 in the match, Saint Mary’s (7-8, 2-2 WCC) took control of the third set after Loyola Marymount (11-4, 2-1 WCC) scored the first point, leading the rest of the way to win 25-19 and make it 2-1. Set four was just as competitive with the Gaels closing a five-point gap to make it 11-11.
