HONOLULU – The Gaels (7-3) played some stellar beach volleyball on day two of the Heineken Queen's Cup, falling to No. 12 Hawaii (4-5) 5-0 before downing Nebraska (9-6) 3-2.
Against the Rainbow Wahine, the Gaels took three of their five matches to a third set, with Sedona Sherman/Sadie Shipman, Allie Cataldo/Angie Bour, and Karmin Brown/AJ Slojkowski all forcing their Hawaii counterparts to bonus sets. Bour and Cataldo put together the strongest overall match, falling in the first set 21-10, before rallying to a 22-20 second set victory.
