Kings’ Frank Mason sidelined at least through January with heel injury

The Kings announced point guard Frank Mason III had an MRI Wednesday that showed a partial tear of the right plantar fascia. He’s been out since suffering the injury Dec. 31 against Memphis and will be re-evaluated in four-to-six weeks from the original injury, which was diagnosed as a bruised right heel.

Mason has missed the last four games. The rookie from Kansas is averaging 7.6 points and 2.9 assists in 29 games, including two starts.

The Kings will get point guard George Hill back in the lineup for Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
