With the new CBA came some new rules, including the addition of two new roster spots for each NBA team. However these roster spots are special in that they’re designated as a “two-way contracts” between the NBA and the Sports Drink sponsored Development League.
The way these contracts work is a little complicated but basically it boils down to the following:
- Each player on a two-way contract can spend up to 45 days with the NBA team. They will get a pro-rated NBA salary for any time they spend in the NBA. Using all 45 days would equate to about $200,000.
