This is the third time we've compiled our ranking of the most influential people in New Jersey high school sports, and once again, we've found that the key word -- influential -- has a vastly different meaning for everyone.
Is it the ability to impact all corners of the state? Is it the longevity and success on the field of play? Is it the direct importance within a single community over a period of time? Or is it some combination of the three?
With more than 400 high schools and dozens of sports, the task of narrowing a list to 50 people is, of course, impossible.
