BEDMINSTER -- It took reaching $1 million in fundraising for the relentlessly optimistic Eric LeGrand to finally admit he had some private doubts.

Not about whether he will walk again. He has never stopped believing in a cure for paralysis.

But, in the early days, months and years of strong support for his Team LeGrand charity, the former Rutgers football star wondered if he would be able to keep the momentum going long-term.
