PISCATAWAY -- The goal was simple for Rutgers heading into a pivotal three-game home stand to end the regular season.

Win the final three regular-season games and the Scarlet Knights could dream of finishing .500 for the first time in 11 years.

That quest took a major hit Wednesday night, as Michigan held off the Scarlet Knights, 68-64, at the Rutgers Athletic Center.

With Rutgers football coach Chris Ash taking in the action -- and long-tossing T-shirts into the student section during a giveaway to boot -- the Scarlet Knights (13-16, 2-14 Big Ten) dropped their fifth straight.
