Rutgers football recruiting made a statement with the addition of running back Kay’Ron Adams (5’10”, 198 lbs., Warren, Ohio), who made it official during the early signing period. Adams chose Rutgers over Iowa, Cincinnati, Kent State and others. The three-star prospect felt that Rutgers was the right school from the start.
For a team that finished 1-11, fending off the likes of Iowa isn’t an easy task. Michigan and Michigan State came late to the party, and started to show some interest in Adams. It was the initial interest and commitment to Adams that made Rutgers a winner.
