Like many Rutgers athletics programs, the Scarlet Knights women’s soccer team hosts an annual fundraising event that looks to inspire the Central Jersey community. This year's event, however, is taking on new meaning.
“Our team takes great pride in giving back to the community, especially the young women who support us the most,’’ Rutgers assistant coach Trish DiPaolo said. “This year we came up with the Fearless Girl statue on Wall Street and thought that was the perfect thing to model (the event) after. She has this quote below her that reads, ‘Know the power of women in leadership.
