Heisman Trophy 2016: Why Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson can win

Lamar Jackson posted video game-like numbers while engineering Louisville to national-title contention this season, but there's one line in his bio that indicates why he is the Heisman Trophy favorite this year.

The true sophomore quarterback is the first player in FBS history with 3,300 passing yards and 1,500 rushing yards in the same season.

"The effect Lamar has had on our program is unparalleled,'' Louisville coach Bobby Petrino said, via the school's official website, after Jackson was named one of five finalists for a Heisman Trophy that will be awarded Saturday night in New York.
