A 7-2 halftime lead was too much to overcome as the Delaware Blue Hens knocked off #1 Rutgers 13-9 on Saturday. The loss was the Scarlet Knights first on the season.
The Scarlet Knights were able to rally a bit in the third quarter when they out scored Delaware 5-2, but poor shooting and a subpar performance in net would spell doom for the Scarlet Knights.
The Scarlert Knights would make it 9-8 with 14 minutes left in the fourth quarter, but Delaware rattled off the next four goals to distance themselves from the Scarlet Knights
Rutgers finished only 1-6 on the power play on the day, they faced off at a 42% clip, and got only five saves from goalie Max Edelmann.
