PISCATAWAY — It's amazing what a round number in the loss column will do for a team's confidence.
New Mexico lost as a two-touchdown favorite last Saturday to in-state rival New Mexico State, 32-31, to even its record at 1-1.
"Obviously we would love to be 2-0,'' New Mexico coach Bob Davie said. "I talked to our team about it (Tuesday). If we were 2-0, we'd be licking our chops right now. We'd be so excited to go up there, take a shot and let it rip against a Big Ten team. And I said, 'Let's act like we're 2-0, then.
