Just a few days after taking an official visit to The University of Iowa, 3-star Weequahic High School defensive back Ihmir Smith-Marsette has de-committed from Rutgers University.
Smith-Marsette had been committed to Rutgers since mid-December and, amidst the craziness, felt pretty stable in his commitment. However, a trip west to Iowa City appeared to have caused Smith-Marsette to re-think his future.
Admittedly, this is some pretty poor timing for another defensive back de-commitment. Rutgers has now lost it’s second class of 2017 DB in about a week, with 3-star Bryce Watts flipping his commitment to Virginia Tech.
