When you break-down the current mid lane landscape in North America, you can’t help but notice the large amount of imports that dominate the position. The top three teams in North America from last split (TSM, C9, P1) all have mid laners that got their start in other regions. Bjergsen and Jensen both came from Europe and are considered the top two NA mids. Ryu came from Korea with Arrow and turned Phoenix 1 into a contender. Of the ten starting mid players in the 2017 NA Spring Split, only two of them got their start in North America.
