"He has a really good head on his shoulders," Beckerman said of Morris. "He's trying to learn from the veterans, he's listening, he's asking questions, he's working hard, he's doing extra stuff after practice and I think when you do all those little things, when your opportunity comes, then he's able to take advantage of it, and that's what we've seen this year."
In his first year with the Sounders, Morris had 12 goals and three assists in 31 starts entering Sunday's final game of the year. Now 21, Morris helped pick up the slack for what was a slumping Seattle team until August.
