A Utah man accused of kidnapping and killing a 6-year-old girl nearly six years ago is still not competent for trial

West Jordan • Efforts to restore the competency of a Utah man accused of kidnapping, raping and killing a young girl nearly six years are continuing.

Terry Lee Black, 46, is charged with first-degree felony counts of aggravated murder, child kidnapping and rape of a child for allegedly snatching 6-year-old Sierra Newbold from her West Jordan home and killing her on June 26, 2012.

Black was found not competent to stand trial on the charges in 2016, and a judge ordered that he be forcibly medicated at the Utah State Hospital last year.

At a Thursday review hearing in 3rd District Court, attorneys set another review date for Aug.
