Spring football awards announced

Junior wide receiver Bilal Marshall was named the offensive most improved player, while senior Ryan Watson was tabbed as the most improved defensive player. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Alex Hilger was named the special teams most improved player.

The Newcomer Award, presented to the players who are in their first spring practice and make the most progress, went to redshirt freshman offensive guard Martesse Patterson and sophomore linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley.

The Pit Bull Award, given to the players that exemplifies and sustains tenacity throughout spring practice, was awarded to fifth-year senior center Robert Kugler and junior defensive tackle Jake Replogle.
