Purdue's former starting QB Etling looking to transfer

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) Quarterback Danny Etling will transfer from Purdue.

Coach Darrell Hazell announced the move Thursday. The 6-foot-2, 216-pound sophomore started the final seven games of his freshman season after replacing Rob Henry. Five games into last season, Hazell named Austin Appleby the starter.

Etling, a Terre Haute, Indiana, native never played again for the Boilermakers. In 13 career games, Etling was 238 of 429 with 2,490 yards, 16 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions in 13 career games.
