Purdue softball: Boilers brace for senior day, weekend series with Iowa

After struggling to generate offense for much of the last month, the Boilers exploded for 14 runs against in-state foe IPFW in Wednesday’s 14-1 mercy-rule victory. Fourteen runs is the most scored by Purdue in a game this season, and the team will hope that their mid-week outburst can carry over into their series with the Hawkeyes, who are just 14-32 overall on the season.

“Every game, we’re coming out to win. You can’t underestimate anyone. We’re really excited for this weekend,” senior Lexy Moore said. “The main thing for us is hitting. When we have opportunities, we’ve got to put the ball in play.
