Providence 65, Seton Hall 61: Cartwright sparks Friars to victory

PROVIDENCE --- Needing a response after a dispiriting defeat at DePaul last time out, Providence's floor leader was there to provide it on Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Kyron Cartwright's 3-point play with 30.9 seconds to play ultimately made the difference as the Friars grinded out a 65-61 win over Seton Hall.

Cartwright's turnaround jumper from the left elbow snapped a 61-61 tie and served as quick redemption after a painful 64-63 loss to the Blue Demons on Tuesday. It was Cartwright who had the ball in his hands when the clock expired on that night, his potential winning layup clanking off the front rim.
