Providence 63, No. 21 URI 60: Seven straight rivalry wins for Friars

PROVIDENCE --- The great Providence College teams of the 1960s finally have some long-awaited company.

The current Friars now boast their own seven-game winning streak over their most bitter in-state rivals after another tense Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

Rodney Bullock saved his best for the stretch run, Kyron Cartwright did most of the heavy lifting early and Jalen Lindsey added his own final nail as Providence downed the University of Rhode Island, 63-60, in front of a rabid sellout crowd of 12,488.

Bullock poured in 14 of his 17 points in the second half, Cartwright totaled 15 of his career-high 19 in the first half and Lindsey canned a tough fadeaway with 43.
