OMAHA, Neb. – Now that is a big-time win.
Desperate for victories to polish a needy NCAA Tournament resume, the Providence Friars registered their biggest of the season Wednesday night in a 68-66 thriller over No. 23 Creighton.
Kyron Cartwright swished a 3-pointer with just 2.4 seconds on the clock to give the Friars the lead. Khyri Thomas' jumper at the buzzer missed.
The victory pushes PC's record to 17-11 overall and 7-8 in the Big East. The Friars received 18 points from Emmitt Holt, all in the second half.
