PC 4, Vermont 1: Three-goal third carries Friars

PROVIDENCE - The Providence College men's hockey team broke a 1-1 tie with three goals in the third period to defeat No. 12 Vermont, 4-1, at Schneider Arena on Saturday night.

Erik Foley and Josh Wilkins each had a goal and an assist, with Foley scoring his team-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season.

Friars goalie Hayden Hawkey made 25 saves. Vermont's Stefanos Lekkas stopped 33 shots.

The Catamounts and Friars played a scoreless first period that saw the teams combine for 19 shots on goal - 11 from the visitors - as both Hawkey and Lekkas stood tall.
