SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Shane Kavanagh, Niko Rufo and Erik Foley scored for No. 10 Providence as the Friars tied No. 15 Notre Dame, 3-3, on Saturday night. The Irish defeated the Friars, 4-1, on Friday night.
Cam Morrison tied the score at 3 at 8:40 of the third period on Saturday for the Fighting Irish (18-9-5, 11-5-4 Hockey East), who battled back from three one-goal deficits.
Kavanagh scored at 11:13 of the first period to give the Friars a 1-0 lead. Robbie Hennessey and Vincent Deshamias had assists on the goal.
Bobby Nardella tied it at 15:37 for Notre Dame.
