PROVIDENCE – Like many other Friars who've come before her, Doris Burke believes a little Divine Providence has guided her life, and career, for many years now.
Now known as the premier female ESPN and ABC basketball analyst in the business, Burke says she's followed a fortunate path that is leading her to a seminal achievement this weekend as she joins the Friars Legends Forever honorees at her alma mater. Burke will be just the fourth women's basketball player ever honored by PC.
"When Harold (Starks) called me to tell me they wanted to do this my initial reaction was `no, please I wasn't good enough to deserve that,'' Burke said.
