The rugby season is OVER: RFU announces cancellation of the domestic game amid coronavirus crisis as they hold talks with Gallagher Premiership over how to resolve current campaign

The RFU have prematurely ended all rugby in England at all levels – aside from the Premiership – in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a letter to all clubs in England, Bill Sweeney the RFU CEO, confirmed the move as there is no prospect of a return to action soon.

As of now the top flight is still only suspended for four weeks, but that will be urgently reviewed.

The RFU has announced all 'league, cup and county' rugby has been cancelled for 2019/20

The move is likely to cause chaos in all leagues below the Premiership, with it uncertain how leagues will be finished.
