Clubs in the Premier League and Championship could see their transfer plans fall into ruin after many took up an option with HMRC to defer their PAYE payments.

The Pay As You Earn system is a method for businesses to pay income tax but a number of sides have agreed to defer the payments to help them through the current coronavirus crisis.

But a number of clubs could be thwarted from splashing out on big money signings this summer until they have repaid the money, according to the Telegraph.
