Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare pays tribute to 'consistent performer' Danny Simpson ahead of 100th club appearance against West Brom

Leicester right back Danny Simpson has been praised by his manager ahead of making his 100th appearance for the club.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Foxes from QPR in the summer of 2014, has been an ever present in the Premier League so far this season and will reach the milestone on Monday night when Leicester host West Brom at the King Power Stadium.

At a time when full back play appears more concerned with attacking rather than defending, Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare thinks Simpson is something of a throwback.

'I think for the past season-and-a-half he's been a real consistent performer,' said Shakespeare.
