Diego Simeone's frank admission on Monday that he will one day coach Inter Milan lit up the press conference of an otherwise mundane preamble to a match in which the two sides have only pride to play for.
Speaking about his father, Giovanni Simeone, the 21-year-old who plays up front for Serie A side Genoa, had said previously: 'He (Diego) will sign for Inter at some point. I hope it happens.'
And when asked about those comments from his son, instead of the expected attempt to gloss over the prediction and say – as Simeone so often does – I am only thinking about the next game, he said: 'He's my son and I speak a lot with him and follow his matches closely.
