LaMarcus Aldridge underwent successful thumb surgery

After delaying surgery for several months, Portland Trail Blazers All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge underwent a procedure to repair the radial collateral ligament in his left thumb this morning. He will spend eight weeks recovering before resuming basketball activity in July, around the time of his upcoming free agency decision.

Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge underwent successful surgery today to repair the injured radial collateral ligament of his left thumb. Dr. Thomas J. Graham performed the procedure at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Aldridge is expected to be able to return basketball activity in approximately eight weeks.
