Blazers Review: Mason Plumlee

When the Blazers traded for Mason Plumlee last Summer, it sent a wave of excitement through Rip City. Plumlee, at 24, won a gold medal with the US National Team just years after he helped lead Duke to a National Title. He had accomplished so much in basketball, yet the Brooklyn Nets already had bona fide All-Star and money eating center Brook Lopez in the starting slot. Despite his flashes of brilliance outside of Brooklyn, his development was put on hold in order to ride out Lopez’ last few years in his prime. It seems that Plumlee just needed the chance to start in order to unleash his potential, and all I can say is that I’m glad Portland gave him that chance.
