PORTLAND, Ore. – In their first preseason match of the 2018 season, Portland Thorns FC fell 1-0 to the Chicago Red Stars at Merlo Field on the campus of the University of Portland in the first of three preseason matches for the club during the Thorns FC Spring Invitational presented by Tillamook Yogurt.
The Houston Dash and U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team kicked off the three-day tournament in the first match of the day. Houston scored a goal in each half, while the U.S. U-23s registered a second-half goal in a 2-1 win for the Dash. Forward Veronica Latsko opened the scoring for Houston and defender Amber Brooks notched the second goal.
