Thies and Schutte Claim All-American Honors at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. --- Junior Jeff Thies claimed first team All-American at the conclusion of 1500m final, while sophomore Noah Schutte earned second team All-American in the 3000m Steeplechase final, this evening at the NCAA Championships. The two Pilots make three All-Americans for Portland after senior Grace McConnochie also earned second team All-American last night in the 10,000m.

Thies finished in 3:44.59 to place seventh overall, while Schutte crossed the line in 9:04.87 for a 12th place finish.

The top eight in the final of each event at the outdoor championships earns the status of first team All-American, the following eight earn second team, and the eight after that earn All-American honorable mention.
