FORREST GROVE, Ore. --- Portland Pilot sprinter Maya Murphy-Cook currently sits in third place after the conclusion of the first day of the Boxer Combined Event at Hanson Stadium.
The sophomore placed first overall in the high jump, and matched her season best in the 200m to produce a score of 2689 points. This is Murphy-Cook's first collegiate heptathlon.
The lone Pilot will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the meet, competing in the long jump, javelin and 800m.
