PORTLAND, Ore. --- Sacramento native Lauren LaRocco has been named the Most Outstanding Women's College Track Athlete for 2016 by the Sacramento Running Association.
"Lauren is an amazing student-athlete and she really deserves this," said Portland head coach Ian Solof. "She works incredibly hard and I'm happy to see her earn this kind of recognition. I can't overstate how significant she is to our program and how much she has helped to elevate the status of our team and university."
In the 2016 season LaRocco finished on top of the field in the 5000 meter at the Occidental Invitational on May 7, with a time of 15:58.
