The Playground Poker Club in Montreal is playing host to the biggest live poker event in Canada's history. The partypoker MILLION North America Main Event kicked off Friday with CA$5,000,000 guaranteed in the prizepool and a top prize of CA$1,000,000 guaranteed to the winner.
A total of 372 entries put up the CA$5,300/$4,000 entry to participate in the first flight of the historic event on Friday. After six one-hour levels, the field was trimmed down to 137 players, all of whom will return for Day 2 on Sunday.
Sylvain Siebert was the official chip leader to end Day 1a after bagging 7,744,000.
