With star players in their prime and a revamped defense, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been living in the land between benefit and doubt. They had built-in street cred -- once they finally get healthy, they'll be fine, they'll make a playoff push. That was the default mentality from myself.
While that still might be true, that door won't stay open very long. Injuries aside, the Steelers pass the proverbial eye test but sometimes do things that mediocre teams do -- give away the ball, let teams capitalize on those turnovers, commit silly penalties and give up eye-popping amounts of yards to opposing quarterbacks.
