Steelers deal Brad Wing for draft pick

Special teamers aren’t often involved in trades, but the Pittsburgh Steelers’ preseason this year was just weird enough for two to go down. Earlier this week, they dealt a late-round draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for kicker Josh Scobee. This morning general manager Kevin Colbert made another move.

According to Aaron Wilson from the National Football Post, the Steelers have traded punter Brad Wing to the New York Giants for a draft pick:

Earlier in the day the Giants released Steve Weatherford, which made room for Wing.

Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review followed up with more details a short time later, saying that the pick is a conditional seventh rounder:

Steelers announce they trade Brad Wing to Giants for conditional 7th round pick.
