Steelers 5 Point Underdogs vs Seattle

It’s a game that is as intriguing as any this season for both teams. For one, it marks the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first appearance in Seattle since Super Bowl XL, won by Pittsburgh 21-10.

The two teams have played twice since then and the Seahawks haven’t scored a point, beaten 21-0 back there in 2007 and then 24-0 early in the 2011 season in what ranks as one of the dark points of Pete Carroll’s coaching tenure with the Seahawks. That loss dropped Seattle to 0-2 and followed a blowout at San Francisco to open what was the second season of Carroll’s tenure with the Seahawks and was part of a 2-6 start to the season before the Legion of Boom began to come together and the Seahawks went on a run late that year that foreshadowed the success that was to follow.
